FB Instagram Youtube The Best Lisbon Restaurants with the Tastiest Portuguese Flavors! - Travel with a Silver Lining

The flavors and ingredients of a national cuisine say lots about the country; the food in Lisbon is no exception. Portuguese cuisine and the Lisbon restaurants are richly influenced by the Mediterranean, adding a number of spices from their time as an empire. It’s also heaven for seafood lovers, and the best Lisbon restaurants serve plenty of fish. In all, the Portuguese capital is a city of flavors, as many places to eat in Lisbon prove! A must is also to experience a traditional fado restaurant, a dinner that will awake your emotions!

Below you’ll find my favorite Lisbon restaurants, by neighborhood! What to know more about what to do in Lisbon? Then read my 6 Must Dos in Lisbon Post , 11 Amazing Instagram Spots in Lisbon and also Lisbon Boutique Hotel Post about two amazing Lisbon gems.

Taberna Moderna – An Eclectic & Chic Lisbon Eatery

5. Service: 5

As far as I’m concerned, Taberna Moderna is one of the best Lisbon restaurants – if not the top! This Lisbon restaurant, has a colorful design that took my heart, as did the fantastic food: my favorites were the steak William and the tuna. The portions at Moderna Taberna are pretty big, so this is a perfect place for groups to share a meal.

The vibe at Taberna Moderna is amazing, at a time eclectic and relaxed. The service is outstanding. Taberna Moderna is a must visit when in Lisbon!

Duetos Da Sé: A Fado Restaurant for the Soul

2. Drinks: 3

3. Atmosphere: 4

4. Design: 3

5. Service: 3

When in Lisbon, dinner and a fado restaurant is a must – and we did it at Duetos Da Sé. This eatery is a true testament to traditional food in Lisbon and its amazing seasoning. This Lisbon restaurant is very unassuming, and its atmosphere and flavors are comparable to visiting someone’s home. The fado experience at this fado restaurant was amazing and the size of the place made it a very special and intimate evening!

Dueto Da Sé, maybe the best fado restaurant in Lisbon offers a very cosy and sweet experience with great music!

Another Lisbon restaurant,  Le Petit Caféa fun and relaxed lunch place, is great to get into the Alfama vibe. You can even go for some people watching! Located on one of the main streets of Alfama, this little terrace is easy to find and offers a chill experience. Their small outdoor patio at this Lisbon restaurant is great for warm afternoons and the food is very fresh and tasty. Just across the street is my favorite Lisbon boutique hotel – Memmo Alfama and up the hill one of the most instagramable Alfama spot!

Loved that they had a live music show when we were there!

Pateo – 5 Places in One & One of the Best Lisbon Restaurants

1. Food: 4

2. Drinks: 4

3. Atmosphere: 5

4. Design: 5

5. Service: 4

Pateo is part of Bairro do Avillez, a concept by Michelin chef José Avillez that combines five restaurants into one. Pateo is a fantastic bistro mixing the traditional food in Lisbon with international dishes. The flavors at this Lisbon restaurant are amazing, mostly focused on seafood. Pateo is for sure, among the best Lisbon restaurants! Its sister, on-site restaurants are a Peruvian cantina, an international eatery, a gourmet deli and a place for hearty meals.

This is perfect to start your evening in Bairro Alto, even getting some drinks at the many bars.

Sunny Views at Pharmácia

1. Food: 3

2. Drinks: 3

3. Atmosphere: 4

4. Design: 4

5. Service: 3

Up on Santa Catarina hill, below Bairro Alto, stands Pharmácia, a totally unique place. While the food was good, it wasn’t necessarily the best in town, and the service was a bit slow. Still, the design at this Lisbon restaurant is adorable, made better by the amazing view everywhere. Its big lawn is perfect for an afternoon siesta overlooking the river, 25 de Abril Bridge and Cristo Rei Statute.  Pharmacia is a museum if you want to explore the beautiful building after lunch!

If you’re looking to try the different types of food in Lisbon, the Time Out Market is for you. Not only is it visually impressive, it also offers many amazing flavors! One of the coolest food markets I have ever visited!

Walk by Tagus river for the view, and pay a visit to Ribeira das Naus and Gelateria Fiorio, a pink café with to die for ice cream!

And, lastly, get away from tourists at trendy LX Factory, where some of the best restaurants in Lisbon await! Loved the design food and vibe at Cantina Lx and the café vibes and outdoor patio at Café na Fabrica.
