The Thai capital is one of the most vibrant cities in the world, a hectic megalopolis. Although it might seem counterintuitive, I find a lot of peace in this chaotic city, and I love visiting this city over and over again. If you know where to search, here are so many Instagrammable places in Bangkok! I hope you will get inspired by my 12 favorite Bangkok photography spots.

Instagrammable Places in Bangkok from Above: The Best Rooftops
Having a drink at the coolest rooftops is one of my favourite things to do in any city, but in the Thai capital, it’s almost a necessity. The coolest Bangkok photography spots are up and above, where you can see the thriving town below.

For more on Bangkok among the clouds, read my post on 6 Magic Rooftops in town. And experience them for yourself on this Bangkok: Rooftop Lounge Bars Tour!
1. The Romance of Vertigo & Moon Bar
The romantic spot among the clouds, Vertigo and Moon Bar is the coolest rooftop bar I’ve visited. Built to resemble a ship cruising through the skies, this gem on a 62nd floor is the perfect place to chill during an evening with some cocktails. The prices are a little steep, yes, but it’s also one of the top Bangkok photography spots!

2. The Hip Ambiance of Above Eleven
My favourite Bangkok rooftop bar, Above Eleven boasts one of the coolest vibes in the Sukhumvit Sui 11 party district. The view from this 32nd-floor bar is incomparable, making for one of the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok. It’s also a great place to enjoy some of the best Peruvian flavours you’ll find in town and the place with one of the best vibes in Bangkok, if you ask me!

3. The Deluxe Lounge Feel of Hi-So
Hi-So is the rooftop bar of the So Sofitel Hotel, a cool spot in the clouds with a luxurious atmosphere. Facing Lumpini Park, it’s got a unique view for taking snaps, quite different from most rooftops. Catch a sunset here, relax in a lounge chair with a drink, and take advantage of one of the prime Bangkok photography spots!

The key secret to perfect photos (besides the great location of course!) is a good camera. I invested in one and cannot be happier with the quality of the photos!
4. The Classic Sirocco
Something of a tourist trap, Sirocco is the most famous rooftop bar in Bangkok – especially since it was in one of the Hangover movies. It’s always a little too crowded for my taste, but the view is downright magnificent. And walking down its big stairs, you’ll feel like a celebrity. Take your time to enjoy it as one of the top Bangkok photography spots.

5. 360° of Bangkok at the CRU Champagne Bar
Above one of the largest malls in the world, the Central Market, stands the CRU Champagne Bar. From its breathtaking stairs to the magical 360-degree view, CRU offers some of the most incredible photo ops out there. The design is quite trendy as well, so be prepared to love everything about this place!

Bangkok Photography Spots: The Temples
Bangkok is a proud old city with centuries of history, and as such, it has some of the most incredible temples you’ve ever visited. These unique spots tell a fascinating history – and they’re certainly among the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok!

See more on this Flexi Walking Temple Tour of the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun!
6. The Pearly Dream of Wat Arun
One of the ultimate city landmarks, Wat Arun is said to be among Thailand’s most breathtaking Buddhist temples. A huge building first built in the 17th century and later ornamented in the 19th, it’s easily one of the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok. Don’t forget to take pictures climbing up!

Bangkok Photography Spots in Darling Boutique Hotels
Gorgeous sights of the city, lovely design and infinity pools – these are some of the key ingredients of Bangkok’s cutest hotels. Boutique and design abound, but it’s the contrast with the city’s incredible sights that set hotels apart as some of the ultimate Bangkok photography spots!

7. Infinity Pool Sights at the Akyra Thonglor
My favourite hotel in town, the Akyra Thonglor, also happens to offer some of the coolest Bangkok photography spots. The design is luxurious and contemporary, but one area takes all the Insta love: the pool. Dip into the water overlooking at the magical Bangkok skyline, camera in hand!

8. The Interior Design Darling of the Oriental Residence
A huge lodging with nearly 150 expat-focused rooms, the Oriental Residence isn’t exactly a boutique hotel. Still, it is haven for design lovers. With its beautiful earthy décor and its many common areas overlooking the city, it’s one of my fave Bangkok photography spots. The fact that it’s a lovely place to stay at certainly helps!

Instagrammable Places in Bangkok by the River
Bangkok by the river is full of stark contrasts: the peacefully beautiful spots, the skyscrapers, the colours of Chinatown. All this forms an eclectic mix that makes the riverside one of the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok.

See the sights with style by taking this amazing 2-Hour Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya Princess!
9. The Vibrant Chinatown
The most hectic area in Bangkok, Chinatown might seem like a tourist trap, but it’s a great place to see the local life. The vibrant colours and the crazy market life also make it one of the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok. The best thing you can do in Chinatown is to get lost in the smaller streets, readying your camera and tastebuds for adventure.

See this thriving neighbourhood by booking this 4-Hour Chinatown Guided Tour!
10. The Mandarin Hotel’s Oasis
An oasis in the middle of the craziest part of the city, The Mandarin Hotel is a feast for the soul. Quiet and luxurious, it’s a start contrast to the madness outside. Stay for some lunch or just a couple of drinks by the river, enjoying one of the prime Bangkok photography spots.

Bangkok Shopping & Everyday Life
As a thriving capital, Bangkok is a dreamy place to shop all your troubles away. In town, you’ll find all kinds of malls, from the hipster gems like The Commons, which most resembles a lifestyle hub. There are always little Bangkok photography spots in each of these places, with breathtaking details!

For a uniquely local shopping experience, check out this Bangkok by Night Tuk Tuk Tour: Markets, Temples & Food!
11. The Hip Lifestyle of The Commons
The Commons is the coolest spot in the city, and easily one of the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok. A lifestyle hub more than anything else, it’s full of hip eateries, beautiful corners, and some of the trendiest locals and expats. A unique Bangkok experience!

12. The Pink House of Eden at CentralWorld
CentralWorld is one of the biggest shopping malls in the world, with a strong presence of the most important brands in the world. Hidden in this place of grandeur, you’ll find one of my favorite Bangkok photography spots: House of Eden. A pink beauty, it’s almost Barbie-like in its girliness – and completely Insta-ready!
Bangkok Photography Spots for Sunrise, Sunset & Evening
Some of the most Instagrammable places in Bangkok really come alive at night, while the skyscrapers’ light up and the city’s skyline showers in colours. The difference is astounding: the city goes to messy to simply breathtaking!

13. Catch a Sunrise
Finish off a night of partying by catching a sunrise from up and above, seeing the city from above. Or just wake up early:)! The most Instagrammable places in Bangkok to see the sunset are the rooftops – and my favourite is the one at Akyra Thonglor!

14. See the Sunset
Head to a rooftop and enjoy a glass of your favourite cocktail to see the colours of the sunset. My sweet spot: Octave at the Marriott!

15. Enjoy the Evening Lights
Pick your favourite rooftop and prepare your camera for some of the most breathtaking pictures you’ve ever taken. Bangkok dresses in its gala outfit at night, showcasing the lights of a million skyscrapers – a perfect photo op!
