Overall Review of one of the Best Design Hotels Amsterdam

Design & Boutique Feeling
The old details are what make this one of the best design hotels Amsterdam: the wooden floors, beams in the ceiling, the décor and marble elements. The design in a dark palette, mixing dark wood and purple, just adds an extra kick to the general feeling of luxury.
Room & Other Facilities
One of the things that makes this one of the best design hotels Amsterdam is the care they’ve placed on each room. Exquisitely designed, there’s a real cozy feel without losing its deluxe quality. Loved the details in purple, the art and the wooden beams in the ceiling. The fully modern bathroom was inside the room, and the sink was right behind a wall in the middle, with a bathtub and a toilet. Loved how peculiar the setup was, keeping the classic look yet modernizing it.
There are lots of enchanting areas to make this one of the best design hotels Amsterdam. I loved the sweet dining area with its tables by the window, which I highly recommend to start the day. The kitchen with its fashionable B&W floor was another favorite, thanks to the delicious smell of freshly-baked chocolate cake every morning. You can actually cook yourself in the super cute kitchen if you feel like it, too! They also have a bar in front of the reception, perfect for nightcaps and chill days.
My favorite part of the day when staying at Canal House was chilling at the beautiful garden, as the spring blooms surrounded me. Order a glass of rosé and relax in the purple lounge coaches, enjoying the flowers and the view of cute houses.
Food & Drinks
Canal House only serves breakfast, and there’s one included with the room price, but it’s not very varied. They have some à la carte choices to eat extra, and while I enjoyed the freshly baked bread, juices and fresh fruit and yogurt, there are cooler spots outside. I’d recommend booking a room without breakfast and then having a great one outside.
Perfect service, just what I need from one of the best design hotels Amsterdam. Authentic and personal, with very friendly staff who always strived to help with everything. They even recommended activities and eateries! Loved the personal touch!
Incredible location in one of the loveliest streets in the canal belt. It’s also close to my favorite area, Jordaan, which is full of trendy eateries. You can also easily walk to central Amsterdam and many of the top tourist spots. The perfect placement for one of the best design hotels Amsterdam – there’s even a canal boat stop around the corner!
The Tire Station Conscious Hotel – A Hub of Sustainable Travel
Sustainability needs to become a focus of every aspect of our lives, including travel. We need to think about who we benefit when staying somewhere, and also support hotels that care about the environment. With that in mind, I was so happy to find 4 sustainable places among the best design hotels in Amsterdam – the Conscious Hotels. We stayed at one of them, Tire Station by the VondelPark. I cannot recommend it enough for those who want to combine conscious travel and the best design hotels Amsterdam!

Overall Review: Another Favorite of Best Design Hotels Amsterdam
Design & Boutique Feeling: 4

Design & Boutique Feeling
What ranks the Conscious Hotels among the best design hotels Amsterdam is their commitment to reducing the negative footprint while keeping a trendy vibe. Once a Michelin tire station, the current décor is bright and hip, with lots of greens and, of course, solar panels on the roof. It’s so wonderful to finally find a place that mixes design and consciousness; eco is the new sexy!
Room & Other Facilities
While I loved the room’s use of recycled materials for the décor and small pieces of storytelling on the hanger and walls, the hip design just missed one aspect. Coziness… a bit more focus on this I expected from one of the best design hotels Amsterdam.
However, the reception was very smooth-looking and the house café was a pink Instagram beauty. As a plus, they rent out bikes, and there’s a discount for guests: 15€ for the first day and €10 the following ones.
Food & Drinks
Right next to one of the best design hotels Amsterdam stands Moer, which quickly became a favorite. An organic eatery serving affordable food and drinks of 4 to 6 courses. Everything here is natural, even the décor, with brick walls, blues and greens. The menu is mostly vegetarian and truly outstanding, with some very unique flavors. A popular place for drinks – but even breakfast is delish!
Every detail of the Conscious Hotels is mindful, and that includes service: there’s no traditional reception, and only two hosts. The check-in and check-out process were very smooth, the staff was very nice and friendly. Just what I expect from the best design hotels Amsterdam!
A little outside the city center, but wonderful if you’ve already covered that part, with a more local vibe. Vondelpark is just around the corner, and the Museum Square and trendy De Pijp neighborhood are just 15 minutes away by bike. Also near is Foodhallen, an eclectic and modern food market with incredible street food, bars, and boutiques. The airport is nearby, about 15 minutes away by taxi. Top location among the best design hotels Amsterdam!
For another conscious choice among the best design hotels Amsterdam, head to the lush Conscious sister hotel, Conscious Hotel Vondelpark, just down the street.
