A Russian café chain  you can find throughout the city, my favorite I Love Cake shop is in Patriarshiye Prudy. The perfect place for fans of cakes and other sweets, their specialty is American-style baked goods. Still, their breakfast selection is pretty wide and positively delicious. Some of my favorite options here are the avocado toast and the incredible marshmallow pancakes: an epic breakfast in Moscow.

The décor, a sort of cute diner/café, just adds to the all-around sweet experience. It’s one of the best restaurants in Moscow when you’re craving something sugary. It is open until the late night so if you are up for some sweets after a Patriarshhiye dinner, why not pop by!

It’s the spot where you can find the best detoxes, juices, smoothies and vegan and vegetarian options. Their slogan is healthy is the new sexy and Fresh is all about organic, healthy and tasty meals!

This too is a small chain of places to eat in Moscow, and luckily one of them are located in Patriarch Ponds. A small oasis of calm in the hectic city, my order here is a wheatgrass shot with a delish smoothie. Each has its own story!

The perfect brunch place, specially because it’s just around the corner from my place! Convenient location aside, Café Benedict is a cute and artsy spot with a cool, hip vibe. I come to do some blogging here when I need inspiration. On weekdays, it’s often full of freelancers and artists working on their laptops.

Uilliam’s is one of the most popular places to eat in Moscow for the young and hip crowd. Another Patriarch Ponds favorite, it’s a small and cool oasis, with a few touches of Russian traditional here and there. Their brunch is fantastic, and their lunch options are also pretty yummy. With a sort of casual chic décor, it’s a cool spot to spend an afternoon!

6. Americano – The Cute Blogger Spot for Breakfast in Moscow

1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 4
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 3

Americano is part of the same chain as my local favorite – Benedict – above. A super cute and hip little oasis in the trendy area Patriarshy. Decorated in pastell colors and with big windows with perfect people watching spots. Very instagramable decor and this is a popular spot for bloggers or hip entrepreneurs to hang out. The food is very good as in general with breakfast in Moscow. Just loved their egg benedict on pancake and their cakes are super tasty!Overall this place is very cozy the only downside is that the service is a bit slow. But hey, when on vacay do not stress and enjoy the vibe of this spot for breakfast in Moscow!

7. Coffemania – The Bistro Spot for Moscow Breakfast

1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 3
4. Design: 3
5. Service: 3

Coffemania  has a bit more of a bistro feel to it and my favorite one is the one at Belorusskaya metro station  but there are many to choose from with various setting and quality! The Belorusskaya one is a larger vibrant place with a bit of a luxury Russian vibe. The food is good and the menu is wide. Try out some of their hot fruit drinks – a Russian speciality. I miss a bit the personal feel here but still a cool place to start the day by mingle with some locals!

8. Dr Zhivago – Start the Day with a View of the Red Square

1. Food: 5

3. Atmosphere: 4
4. Design: 4

Breakfast in Moscow in an eclectic and modern Russian setting with the Red Square outside the window. Well, you can not start the day in a better way if in Moscow. Dr Zhivago is one of the hotspots for foodies in Moscow not only for breakfast in Moscow but for lunch and dinner. The setting is all in red and white and here you get the traditional Russian experience. The service is great and the waitresses are dressed to fit the restaurants. The food here is great and take the opportunities to try out some Russian specialities like Pelemenis, blinis with Russian caviar, borscht or why not start the day with some Russian pies.

9. Café Pushkin – The Moscow Institution

1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4

No breakfast in Moscow without mentioning the institution Café Pushkin. The number one Moscow restaurant that you can find in all guide books. This place is open 24/7 and even though I prefer having lunch here, the breakfast is also great! A truly traditional place located in a Baroque-style mansion and the costume of the waitresses takes you back to another time! The food here is good and also the place for you to try out some traditional Russian dishes!

The decor and design of this place is just outstanding. All in gold, lots of chandeliers and an example of how exquisite luxury could look like for those that had money! They have a champagne brunch here where you can drink as much champagne as you want together with a buffet breakfast or rather brunch. The food is not as good as in the other places but it is the decor and champagne that will make you want to come here.
