Summer is finally here and I hope it stays for good this time! Vacation time is getting closer, the days are far longer than the nights, people are starting to get their first sun tan and last but not least, the smiles! It’s amazing to see how the weather impacts the mood and vibe in a country like Sweden! The sun brings people out to the beaches, on the streets and to cafés and especially during the weekends. In order to enjoy your summer city weekends to the fullest, you need perfect outfit to go with the sunny weather and that’s where I can help you.
The 3 Must Haves This Summer!
If you want to check out my 8 must have outfits for a vacation in the sun then click here, but for this summer I have three addictions:
- The Long Skirts: First of all we have the long skirts. I just love the feeling of changing my coarse jeans to smooth and light long skirts!
- Colorful Flower Power Patterns: This season is full of floral and other colorful patterns. I love how these pieces transforms my wardrobe from dark and gloomy to one which is bright and full of colors. I’m especially in love with the Asian inspired designs this season! Adorable!
- Conscious Fashion Thinking: Sustainability is one of the hottest topics in Sweden at the moment and as a result I’ve tried to change my high paced life to a slower living experience, which also includes finding more responsible fashion. It makes me so happy to see that even the mass market brands are trying to adapt the same way I am. They’re really making it easier for people to be able to do some conscious shopping. My favorite brand this season is Twist & Tango. Not only are they focusing on using recycled materials, but they’ve also invested a lot in charity projects focusing on women!
But now off to my fave summer weekend outfits!
1. The Lady in Red
Here’s one long skirt I’m obsessed with. My red swirling beauty from WERA works great for any occasion. With your choice of top, jacket and shoes you can wear this to a picnic in the park or out for a drink with friends. Regardless of how you style this beauty, you’ll always light up the streets of the city.
2. The Exotic Explorista
The minute I laid my eyes on this silk skirt from H&M, I knew I had to have it! The color palette isn’t my typical style, since it’s more earthy. Still caught my attention and it’s a wonderful summer skirt. Sneakers and my favorite Tiger Lily top from the warm days in Byron Bay will complete the outfit and make it unique and stylish.
3. Blue Geisha Vibes
For the last year, inspiration from Japanese culture has been a big trend. I own a couple of suits with the typical Japanese flower pattern, however, this top from Twist & Tango has made it to first place on top of my list of clothing with that pattern. The design is beautiful, but the light blue color, the wide arms and the strap you tie around your waist really elevates the top. It’s also made out of recycled material, which means buying it doesn’t only make you look good, but it makes you do something good as well. With a pair of jeans and high heels, you’ll have yourself a flawless outfit for a summer weekend in the city.
4. Romantic Black
I have a feeling this skirt will be my most used piece of clothing this summer, because I love these sort of basic items which have a little something special about them. Those who know me, know that I love fashion with a romantic twist and that’s exactly what this skirt is all about. It’s made from recycled material which makes it feel as good as it looks. It’s just perfect for a city weekend since it can be used in so many places. With sneakers and a T-shirt it makes a perfect outfit for exploring the city, but if you change in to a party top and high heels, you’ll look stunning for any summer festivity!
5. The Short One
Dresses are so practical! You just need the one piece of clothing and you already have a wonderful summer weekend outfit. I’m a huge fan of dresses with spagetti straps, but when in the middle of a city, you might want to be a bit more covered (at least during the day). This dress is made from a thin linnen, which makes it wearable even during the hottest of summer days. Like no 4, it’s a little basic, but the details bring the romance out. I bet you now see a pattern with what type of clothes I like? While this dress is kind of short, sometimes you just feel like showing some legs. Put on some sandals or grab your favorite pair of heels and the weekend is yours!
6. New Jewelries from @TIJN Home Life
No outfit is complete without jewelries and I have the perfect ones for any summer weekend outfit! Feminine and dainty bracelets, rings and earrings will bring a cute city vibe to any outfit. I especially love these pieces from TIJN Home Life which go perfectly with the no 2 skirt.
7. Ready for an Active Summer with @Stronger
Not only is it important to look chic while you’re going about your day to day life, you also want to look classy while you’re working out. Stronger is a brand which offers stylish clothes fit for any type of workout and these pieces will make you look stunning no matter how hard your working!
So, there you have it! Those are my top five summer weekend outfits, and by taking inspiration from this, you’ll shine brighter than the sun while you enjoy the city you’re in.
