My 2 Favorite Hotels in Lisbon Portugal
The Portuguese capital has the unique magic of cities by the ocean, so the boutique hotels Lisbon are downright enchanting. We stayed in two gorgeous lodgements, both amazing and yet very different. To me, the best place to stay in Lisbon should honor the city’s vast history and its rare romantic quality. And my two hotels in Lisbon Portugal managed to do just that. Read all about my stay at the local H10 hotel and at the Memmo Alfama Lisbon!

H10 Duque de Loulé: A Gem Among Boutique Hotels Lisbon
In keeping with the H10 concept, H10 Duque de Loulé shines among hotels in Lisbon Portugal. It’s a design marvel hidden from plain sight that will steal your heart the minute you enter!

Design & Boutique Feeling
This gem among boutique hotels Lisbon has luxury down to an art. With a beautiful 18th century façade, everything inside is totally new. The décor mixes modern functional with Portuguese traditional. The stylish lobby combines B&W floors with beautiful antique furniture. It certainly has a look worthy of the best place to stay in Lisbon!

Room & Other Facilities
Very Mediterranean vibe, with plenty of whites and blues but with a great mix of design and elements. The rooms are big, comfy and cozy. Some rooms have large windows overlooking the city, a perfect feature for places to stay in Lisbon!
With large windows and bright décor, we woke up to light every day, a true sign of one of the best boutique hotels Lisbon. Also really loved the very modern B&W bathroom and the big comfortable bed. The cozy feel here has a lot of the qualities I expect from the best place to stay in Lisbon.

Food & Drinks
On the first floor, you can find Azul e Branco Restaurant, a cozy, bistro-like eatery. It’s all whites and blues, with lovely wood elements. The B&W floortiles and broad spaces are totally entrancing, unique among hotels in Lisbon Portugal. The style is also important on the breakfast menu, which is delicious and beautifully presented. A classy gem among hotels in Lisbon Portugal!

Setting this apart from other boutique hotels Lisbon is the rooftop, where you can see all 5 hills by the sea. Limão Rooftop Bar is the perfect spot to catch a sunset facing the city’s colorful houses.

Service
While friendly and professional service and the staff really made everything to make our stay perfect. Still a hotel chain, so the truly personal touch isn’t really there but this is just a minor remark. We were pretty happy with the service, though, a step above most hotels in Lisbon Portugal. And even if it’s a chain, H10 is still a top spot among boutique hotels Lisbon!
Location
The hotel’s only relative downside, and the main reason it’s not my top pick for the best place to stay in Lisbon. Most places to stay in Lisbon are between Bairro Alto and Alfama, but H10 Duque de Loulé is located a bit farther up in the city, close to Marquise of Pombal Square. However, it is just a 20-30 minute walk down to Bairro Alto, and taxis are easy to find.

Would you like to stay at H10 Duque de Loulé. THEN BOOK IT HERE!
We all want to get to our location as fast as possible when we touch down. I can highly recommend to BOOK A PRIVATE TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL FOR A SMOOTH ARRIVAL.
Memmo Alfama Lisbon – The Best Place to Stay in Lisbon?
An oasis of design in the busy Lisbon old town, Memmo Alfama Lisbon is a hidden gem. A truly cool place that makes its mark among boutique hotels Lisbon! Located on a small hidden street of the busy Alfama streets, this gem will make you feel at home at once! My favorite place to stay in Lisbon!

Design & Boutique Feeling
A boutique superstar, and my pick for the best place to stay in Lisbon. With its cool, modern furniture and earthy palette, it feels more like an artist’s home. It’s a bit Scandinavian in its simplicity.
One of the first boutique places to stay in Lisbon, it’s cozy and home-like. Loved the living room with a library, couches and huge dining table, where breakfast is served.

Room & Other Facilities
The rooms are modern with a simple décor, ones again a bit Scandinavian. Ask for a room with a view and wake up with the sea! However, as is the case with some boutique hotels, the rooms were a bit small and it was difficult to easily store 2 bags here! But when in Lisbon and in this hotel, you do not spend much time in the rooms…

The other facilities of the Memmo Alfama Hotel are top-notch and the rooftop offers another breathtaking view of town. Here you can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, relax in a sunbed or the lounge sofa. And if the rain comes or you feel cold, move into the cozy upper floor living room with glass door. Here, you’ll still be able to enjoy the view of one of the top hotels in Lisbon Portugal!

Food & Drinks
Loved the small but sturdy breakfast buffet at Memmo Alfama Lisbon, and also the evening snacks! Magic happens at the terrace. Have some afternoon drinks while chilling at the infinity pool and soaking up the sun. A must visit even if you do not live here but remember to book in advance!

Service
One thing that sets this apart from other hotels in Lisbon Portugal is its professional and personal service. The girl at the front desk makes you feel at home upon entering. This hotel has the true authentic service that you can only get in small places like this!

Location
Memmo Alfama Lisbon has an especially perfect location among hotels in Lisbon Portugal. It’s in the middle of everything but hidden enough in a backyard to be somewhat secret. Landmarks are a few minutes away on foot!

Check in at any of these two hotels or as we did… both and you will have and you will give your Lisbon stay a true silver lining!
