After celebrating new year among Bangkok’s skyscrapers, it was finally time for some rest, days in the sun by the beach at our Hua Hin boutique resort. We had longed for this for months….2017 was an amazing year but also a crazy one both in terms of work and travel. 15 countries and 32 cities. I guess it says it all. We both agreed this time we needed to have a quiet and peaceful vacation. It was time to relax, to get an energy overdose, all to be ready for another exciting year. Our solution? Explore new places to visit in Hua Hin!

What to do in our Hua Hin Boutique Resort
Three hours by car from Bangkok and we reached our little paradise, our Hua Hin boutique resort hideaway for the coming nine nights, Aleenta Hua Hin. This small luxury hotel was perfect in all aspects, and on top of our list of places to visit in Hua Hin.
Located in Pranburi, an unexploited fishing village in a lush tropical spot by the beach, it’s a true boutique hotel with only 25 bungalows. It was easy to get into vacay mood here. Slowly but surely, we forgot which day it was, let the days pass by in slow motion. The sun was our only guiding star in terms of time. All our problems felt far away and life became so easy as we saw the most incredible places to visit in Hua Hin!

Would you like to stay at Aleenta Hua Hin? THEN BOOK IT HERE!
1. The Gorgeous Mornings
The mornings are the best when you live by the beach, and of course, that’s all we did at the best places to visit in Hua Hin. Opening the glass doors, letting in the sound of the waves together with the morning sun. Suddenly, sleeping in did not feel like a good idea. These golden hours in the morning are to die for.

Continuing the mornings with a great view and to the sound of the waves, we either had a delicious and healthy breakfast or a morning massage, in the Ayurah Spa on the third floor facing the beach.

2. The Days by the Pool & the Hammock
Built to be one with the environment, giving a lush and tropical feeling, each of the bungalows are set to give their guests a true feeling of privacy. The staff were amazing and gave us the opportunity to try out three of their different choices; Palm Pool Villa, Pool Residence and the extra-large Palm Pool Villa. They all made it to our list of favorite places to visit in Hua Hin, but there was a clear favorite!

Our favorite was for sure the Pool Residence, the number eight (ask for this when you are booking as it is the best one). Located just by the sea, with a cool round architecture, we spent our days in the sun beds or the lovely hammock, sipping in the sun, reading books, playing Yatzy, blogging or just letting ourselves be seduced by the view.

Another of our favorite places to visit in Hua Hin was the Aleenta’s infinity pool. Located on the second floor next to the restaurant, the view from here is truly magic. Even though there were only for sunbeds in the small sundeck, we always had the place totally for ourselves. Lying here it was honestly hard to do anything else than just looking into the horizon….

3. The Afternoons at the Beach, on the Best Places to Visit in Hua Hin
The afternoons meant walks on the beach. Around 4 pm the tide took the water away and the wide Pak Nam Pran Beach showed its golden sand. I love that you still can find these unexploited, untouched places in Thailand. Here you will find only a couple smaller hotels, and some impressive luxury private houses and during our afternoon walks we hardly met anyone.

Even though, we were on the wrong side to see the sunset at hour Hua Hin boutique resort, the sky offered us impressive spectacles every evening. The light in the afternoon were so beautiful. Turning everything into a golden, silvery or pink shimmer. These afternoon beach walks will stay in my memory for a long time….

Along the road passing through the sleepy village of Pranburi is also a long board walk where you can walk or take a ride with the bicycle. One afternoon, it was time for a fourty minutes walk and a visit to one of our larger neighbors, the Evason Hua Hin. A big contrast to our small resort with its 20 acres of landscaped lush tropical gardens full of lotus ponds, still very cosy. A great alternative if you are looking for a bigger luxury resort. Loved their Six Senses Spa and their yoga and meditation schedule!

4. The Magic Sunsets
Fredrik is a lucky guy. Having his birthday at January, 6, it means that he gets to celebrate his birthday in various places every year as we usually are traveling this time of the year. And so was the case also this year. Breakfast in our Palm Pool Villa at our Hua Hin boutique resort, a lot of presents, massage followed by a day in the hammock, well a great set up for a birthday.

However, I saved the best for last. A romantic dinner for two right at the beach. This evening, nature was on our side, as we enjoyed one of the best places to visit in Hua Hin. Just before it was time to sit down, the sky turned into pink, giving the entire beach a beautiful shimmer. Never seen a light like this. Can not get more romantic…?

5. The Trip to Hua Hin
This vacation was not a typical one for us. We usually explore a lot, do not stay more than three nights at the same place, and soak up every bit of places to visit in Hua Hin. But…. this time we needed to rest, to relax and recover. So, we did for seven nights but then it was time to leave our bubble to at least see Hua Hin for some true Thai tourist feelings.
We visited one of the many night markets, strolled down the many small streets lined by Thai massage, small shops, tailors and bars. We found our share of places to visit in Hua Hin beyond the confines of our enchanting Hua Hin boutique resort!

If you like sunsets then I have a great spot that you can add to your list of places to visit in Hua Hin. The best place to watch the sunset in Hua Hin is the White Lotus Sky Bar, located at the rooftop of the Hilton Hotel. Sitting in on of the lounge sofas, sipping on a bellini we enjoyed the sight of Hua Hin at dawn.

Places to Visit in Hua Hin
When in Thailand you need to have a tuk-tuk ride. After the sunset, it was time for the obligatory ride, one of the unique places to visit in Hua Hin.
The destination was one of my favorite places to visit in Hua Hin – Putahrasca Hua Hin. I stayed here with Jenny (@swedishyogagirl) three years ago and we loved this hip and cool Hua Hin boutique resort.
The hotel also hosts a beach club and a restaurant, The Oceanside Restaurant & Beach Club, located along the beach and one of our favorite places to visit in Hua Hin. I remembered the great food here and it was still as good. We had a delicious dinner, some tasty rose wine and ended the evening in one of their huge sun beds watching the stars.

The End…
Everything comes to an end and so did our days at Aleenta, our no. 1 among places to visit in Hua Hin. 4 am the alarm clock went off but even though it was dark outside, we had not slept so many hours and we had a long trip home ahead of us, we left this little paradise full of energy and with a big smile on our face.

Aleenta, our magic Hua Hin boutique resort – Thanks for a truly amazing experience! We hope to see you again in the future and explore more places to visit in Hua Hin!
