Cosmopolitan and full of Andalusian hospitality, Marbella is the classiest and most expensive resort in Costa del Sol. Here you’ll find where to stay in Marbella and some exciting things to do in Marbella Spain.
Though known for all the rich and famous people it attracts, Marbella is also a friendly place for regular travelers who want to have an extraordinary experience.
Wondering how to get there? Well, the resort is located in the heart of the Malaga Coastline and the closest airport is in Malaga. From there, you can get to Marbella by car, by bus or taxi.
If you can’t wait to reach the best things to do in Marbella Spain, you can rent a car. However, you should solve everything before your arrival because doing this at the airport will waste time and money. Most people choose to take a taxi because it gets them to their destination in 30 to 40 minutes for 100$.

Where to Stay in Marbella
Choosing where to stay in Marbella might be a bit difficult since Marbella is known for the amazing selection of accommodations. And, even if mainly this is an expensive area, there are many choices before starting all the things to do in Marbella Spain.
Usually, whenever I visit Marbella I stay at a good friend but last time we visited we stayed in Gran Hotel Guadalpin. Not only it is located on the beach, but it is close to both the vibrant Puerto Banus and the quieter San Pedro Area. Though it is quite big and sometimes a bit too busy for my taste, its location and the views made it a good option. The overall atmosphere is qualitative but without being too pretentious and the staff are nice and friendly.
However, if you want a more glamorous stay, Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa is the place to go. This resort offers luxurious accommodations, some with their own private terrace, jacuzzi and even sauna. In addition, here are a few fabulous beachfront restaurants like Sea Grill, and a visit should be on your list of things to do in Marbella Spain. It doesn’t matter if you decide that staying at Puente Romano is too expensive, SeaGrill and the other restaurants here are still a must.
There are plenty of great hotels in Marbella but there are also many great AirBnB options. If choosing this route, find an apartment in the area between Puerto Banus and San Pedro.
Things to do in Marbella Spain: Eating!
Not only is it famous for its beaches and luxurious resorts, but Marbella’s gastronomic scene attracts foodies from all over the world. Whether you are interested in vegan restaurants, beachfront lounges or Michelin-starred restaurants, Marbella has it all.
Organic Market & Food
If you want to have a delicious and original breakfast, you should go to the Organic Market & Food. With a variety of bread, sandwiches and fresh juices, this place will get you ready for a spectacular day. Those who are in the mood to taste something really special should try the eggs benedict. A mouthwatering experience that deserves to be on your list of things to do in Marbella Spain!
When in the mood to eat great seafood while admiring a fabulous view, check out Puente Romano’s SeaGrill. Their cosy “British style living room” will definitely amaze any traveler!
There are few people who would say no to a tasty Italian meal. If you are not one of them, Serafina Restaurant is waiting with a variety of dishes and a 5-star service. Try to book ahead since its tables are occupied most of the time, and waiting in line shouldn’t be part of your things to do in Marbella Spain.
Traveling to Spain and not eating Spanish food is not something you should do. So, for amazing tapas and incredible cocktails, Bibo Restaurant should be among your things to do in Marbella Spain. The local cuisine and the unforgettable atmosphere will make your day perfect!
Tahini Sushi Bar & Restaurant
For a special evening, Tahini Sushi Bar & Restaurant is the answer. Sitting at a table on the balcony and enjoying the ocean view while having an extraordinary culinary experience is something no visitor can miss. Their sushi and gyozas will make your taste buds explode, but if you are a meat lover, their “Teppanyaki” will give you the ultimate experience.
The Best Beach Clubs in Marbella
Besides the delicious restaurants, Marbella is also famous for its glamorous Beach Clubs. Some of the most popular things to do in Marbella Spain include them, with delicious cocktails, sunbathing and even dancing.
One of my favorite beach clubs is El Ancla. The location and vibe of this place is perfect to get into vacation mood. Who doesn’t want to spend a whole day relaxing on a sun bed facing the ocean? Reading your favorite book while enjoying a delicious Mojito sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? And when you get hungry, a fantastic restaurant welcomes you with delicious dishes and that unmistakable “perfect vacay vibe”.
Another incredible beach club is Pure Beach Marbella. This is a perfect spot for people who are looking for a luxurious setting and a busier atmosphere. The music and the friendly service will definitely make any visitor feel special and spoiled! They also have great food, and the best things to do in Marbella Spain involve eating.
If you are looking for total relaxation by the sea still in a cozy sun bed, SeaSoul is the place for you. This beach club is smaller and not as busy as others that may offer more things to do in Marbella Spain. However, it is perfectly arranged and it offers a stunning view. Even though they have a restaurant here I would recommend to visit the neighbor Besaya Beach for a delicious lunch and why not end the day by enjoying a drink and the hippie vibe at Victor’s Beach Club while watching the sunset.
Things to do in Marbella Spain
Marbella is the perfect destination for people who want to recharge their batteries while exploring the beaches, clubs, and restaurants. When bored of sunbathing, there are also interesting things to do in Marbella Spain, including great outdoor activities.
As you can tell there’s a lot to see in Marbella, I can highly recommend THIS 3 HOUR GUIDED BICYCLE TOUR. So much fun!
If the biking tour is not for you, don’t worry they also have a SMALL GROUP WALKING TOUR, BOOK IT HERE.
For people who enjoy long walks, the picturesque, full of terraces and charming shops Old Town is a perfect destination. Admiring the Patio de Los Naranjos can make a perfect afternoon for all kinds of travelers. One of my favorite things to do in Marbella Spain is gazing around here and having a cup of coffee!
If wandering around is not your cup of tea, there are many fun outdoor activities for both adults and kids. So, whether you are interested in swimming in natural rock pools, going kayaking, rock climbing or deep-sea fishing, Marbella is right for you. If the beaches are not enough for you, trekking in the mountains might be exactly what you need. You’ll always find things to do in Marbella Spain just for you!
