New Stars Among Hipster Moscow Restaurants
It’s been a while since I moved away from the Russian capital, and as it happens with all big metropoles, a lot has changed since. The last time I visited I got to visit a few new hipster Moscow restaurants that blew me away. Check them out!
1. Foreigners – The Hot New Spot
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 5
5. Service: 4
From the same team behind my favourite of all trendy Moscow restaurants, 15 Kitchen + Bar (unfortunately closed now) comes Foreigners.

A relatively new concept, the menu isn’t super broad but they have some typical Moscovite offerings like soups, salads and meaty alternatives. I particularly loved their pavlova and the croquettes from the upstairs bar menu. I hear their brunch is also fantastic, though I haven’t tried it myself.
Located in an old building on the Tverskoy Boulevard, it’s a feast for the eyes, keeping the original details like high ceilings, pillars and huge windows with a contemporary design adding rustic elements like brick walls, only with a deluxe twist. The restaurant’s two floors offer different dining experiences, both wonderful. On the base floor, you get a small and hip eatery with an open kitchen. Climb up to the second floor and you have a lounge bar that turns into a dance floor in the evenings.

This is the top trendy spot in Moscow right now, and they’ve really managed to recreate the atmosphere from the defunct 15 Kitchen + Bar. It’s a great place to hang out in the evenings, starting with great dinner and then partying it up later at night. Another plus is the service, which is very personal and friendly – the best bartenders in town!

2. Depo – A Trendy Take of the Traditional Market
Like so many major cities around the world, Moscow has really jumped on the food market trend – and Depo is the latest gem. Located on a former train station that’s been turned into a food hall, it’s home to some of the top hipster Moscow restaurants.

This place is heaven for foodies of all sorts, as all the best restaurant brands in town are represented here. Here, you’ll find everything from food stands to proper restaurants, plus a myriad of events and happenings. The design is lovely and so is the vibe – a truly cool place and a must-visit when in Moscow!

3. Remy Kitchen Bakery – A Parisian Gem at Depo
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 5
5. Service: 4
As I visited Depo, the challenge to find my favourite among trendy restaurants Moscow in the venue was solved quickly – Remy Kitchen Bakery took the spot!
A very stylish little gem within the market, with a spot-on design mixing French and rustic sensibilities. It perfectly mixes the brick walls of the industrial building it’s located in with luxurious new elements like mosaic floors, chandeliers and French-style chairs – like a modern-day Versailles. Very bright and broad, the design and atmosphere are truly inviting.

As far as the food goes, it’s fantastic, mixing restaurant and bakery. Their brunch is downright fantastic, and I loved how you can find really great European-style sour bread here. You can also come in the evenings for a delicious meal, and the menu has a surprising mix of Italian, French, Greek, Chinese, and Japanese.
If you don’t have the time to visit Depo, Remy has two other branches throughout Moscow and I definitely recommend visiting any of them!
4. Lucky Izakaya Bar – A Hip Japanese Hideout
1. Food: 5
2. Drinks: 5
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 5
5. Service: 4
It’s impossible to keep from mentioning the Asian star among hipster restaurants Moscow, Lucky Izakaya Bar. A relatively new place, this cool gem is currently the best Japanese restaurant in town, with delicious flavours.

The physical setup here is very inviting, as a long bar with an open kitchen. Design-wise, it’s all lovely, mixing a rougher and rustic perspective like brick walls with wooden details. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is very sweet and peaceful. Just the place to visit when you’re in the mood for some Japanese!
My Old Favourite Trendy Moscow Restaurants
After living in this vibrant capital for over five years, some hipster restaurants Moscow became a second home. Below, you’ll find my favourite eateries from my time in town!
5. Strelka – The Best Sunset Spot by the River
1. Food: 3
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 3
5. Service: 3

For a great afternoon, Strelka is the top spot among trendy Moscow restaurants. Located in hip Red October, its terrace faces Moscow river, opposite Christ the Savior Cathedral. Young, hip and chill, the vibe always makes me return!
A popular party hangout at night, their menu is simple but ok and perfect for brunch and lazy afternoons. However, it is not the food that brings you here but rather the ambiance and location. It’s the ultimate spot among hipster Moscow restaurants to watch the sun setting behind Moscow buildings.

6. Saxon & Parole – A Moscovite New Yorker
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 4
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4
One of the best hipster Moscow restaurants, for sure. A Sister of New York’s eatery, high-end brasserie/bistro Saxon & Parole is among the top trendy Moscow restaurants. It’ll transport you into Manhattan!

Among my favorite trendy Moscow restaurants and the service is top notch. During the summer it’s a sweet spot for people-watching in Patriarshi Ponds!

When craving a fine burger or New York steak, this tops the list of trendy Moscow restaurants. Their brunch, including a Bloody Mary buffet, is also unmissable. Even if not eating here, come for a delish drink; just don’t miss out one of the top hipster Moscow restaurants!
7. CutFish -The Asian Fusion Winner of Trendy Moscow Restaurants
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 4
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4
Another Pariarshi jewel, CutFish mixes Asian food with a bistro style and eclectic vibe for one of the most unique hipster Moscow restaurants. Its Japanese-style open kitchen offers a menu mixing sushi with other Asian flavors for a delicious fusion. The tuna carpaccio and crab cake are to die for. The wine of this lovely entry of hipster Moscow places is superb, too!
The design of this gem of trendy Moscow restaurants is gorgeous, mixing industrial sensibilities with natural elements. This is the spot I go to when I want some Asian fusion and another one that make it to the list of the top hipster Moscow places!

8. Pinch – A Vibrant Gem Of Trendy Moscow Restaurants
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4
With a similar feel to 15 Kitchen & Bar, Pinch is another personal favorite among the top hipster Moscow restaurants. A smaller eatery with an open kitchen and a bar, it’s downright vibrant. A gem among trendy Moscow restaurants.
This restaurant is small and cozy and you sit near each other on cool wooden tables. The concept is all about international small dishes to share, fairly interesting among hipster Moscow restaurants. You have to try out their burrata and crab cannelloni, the truffle carpaccio and the beef from the charcoal grill and to start off with their huge glasses of champagne is a must. Pinch is one of those trendy Moscow restaurants that’s the perfect spot to start off a night out!

9. Uilliams – The Hot Spot for Weekends & Sunny Days
1. Food: 3
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4
Patriarshiye Prudy, my favorite Moscow neighborhood, is oozing with trendy Moscow restaurants. Maybe the most popular one is Uilliam’s. This small gem among hipster Moscow restaurants is always full with people. The brunch here is great but I am not over excited over their food so that is why I only give it a 3. The vibe is however outstanding and the design and decor cosy with hipster vibes and with an open kitchen as it should be in hipster Moscow restaurants.

During spring and summer, they open the windows and the few seating spots in front of the restaurants are the best for a glass of wine while people watching all hip and cool people in Patriarshy! The best spot for sure among trendy Moscow restaurants.
10. 800C – The Hip Burger Place
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 3
3. Atmosphere: 4
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4
800C located just by the pond, is the place if you are after tasty burgers. It has a bit kitschy and eclectic design and you have to check out the upper floor! A perfect place for weekend lunches as vibrant vibe and good food! A must among hipster Moscow restaurants for burger lovers! Try out their sweet potato pure!
11. Bocconcino – The Trendy Italian
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 3
3. Atmosphere: 3
4. Design: 4
5. Service: 4
Bocconcino has the best pizzas in the area, particularly for hipster Moscow restaurants. Their truffle pasta is amazingly tasty. This place is a good spot if you want a more quite vibe as it is not as crowded as the other trendy Moscow restaurants. Perfect for lazy Sunday afternoon hang out.
The service is great and the design is not what you expect from an Italian… As with all hipster Moscow restaurants, it is a bit more trendy and even have some lemon trees in the restaurant, which gives it a lush and cozy atmosphere.

12. Moscow-Delhi – A One of A Kind Indian with A Personal Touch
1. Food: 5
2. Drinks: 3
3. Atmosphere: 5
4. Design: 4
4. Service: 5
Moscow-Delhi, a truly one of a kind gem among trendy Moscow restaurants and experiences. A hidden gem that is hard to find if you do not know where it is as no signs. When entering this place you enter an Indian home with the kitchen in the middle and a few tables. The window tables are the best so go for them if they are free. Here you will not get any menu but what is being cooked this day. The food is delicious, the staff super friendly and nice. A star among hipster Moscow restaurants that offers an unforgettable experience.

13. Fresh – A Healthy Spot Among Hipster Moscow Restaurants
1. Food: 4
2. Drinks: 4
3. Atmosphere: 3
4. Design: 3
4. Service: 4
If you are up for some tasty vegetarian, a fresh juice or some super shot, then head over to a green spot among trendy Moscow restaurants, Fresh. More of a café but perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Love their healthy juices, smoothies & shots and healthy food. The menu is wide so this is a place you can return to over and over again.
The design is simplistic with lots of wooden details and their slogan is Healthy is the new sexy! A great spot for a couple of hours of blogging too or just some hipster Moscow vibe.
