To the sound of the waves....

Probably one of my most frequently used phrase in my blog posts, describing all the lovely boutique hotels me and @fredjonss have stayed at. But to have a place of our own where you you actually have the beach as the neighbour was a dream even I did not believe would come true. But dreams do come true...

Those of you following my stories know that we nowadays spend most of our weekends in our little oasis on Öland. Renovating, fixing, decorating. I have always loved interior design. This one of my favorite ways to create. I guess this is one of the reason for my obsession for boutique hotels. Apparently this is a normal characteristics for libras.

Slowly but surely the place is turning into ours. The boho with a silver lining design concept starts to take place. So much looking forward to this spring with yoga retreats and other activities here. A place where we will combine business and pleasure so if you want to escape the everyday life for a weekend or so, we will rent this lovely place out.

Will share more of our progress along the way! Keep on dreaming!

What makes you feel grounded?

To just leave your head, your thoughts, all noise and energies in the outer world and to just be with yourself. Listen inwards, to just be in your body. Going back to your roots.

A feeling, a place I rarely had time to get into a couple of years ago but something I now try to experience as often as I can. This is where I can hear myself, listen to my inner voice. Find clarity.

In today's high paced society, it is so important to get back to this feeling over and over again to not loose track of yourself. Of your live. So, what are the best ways for you to feel grounded?

For me Ashtanga & Yinyoga, my daily meditation moments as well as being out in nature, are my best hacks. And the more often we get back to this place, this feeling, the easier it is to reach. So keep on getting back to that feeling over and over again!

Me & @fredjonss spend most weekends in our summer house on Öland! We almost missed that all lakes & bays outside our apartment in Kalmar had turned into ice. Luckily we got them all to ourselves during lunch a sunny day this week! Truly love winter this year💙 !

Winter Wonderland!

We have had the most amazing winter this year! Can not remember last time we had this much snow in Kalmar.

Days with white glittering snow, clear blue sky or gorgeous winter sunrises like this one over the beautiful @kalmarslott. Just fantastic.
I hope the snow will stay many more weeks!

Are you doing your Soul Work?

We spend so much time learning things about the outer world but how much time do we really spend to get to know ourselves?

I thought I knew myself but 2 years ago, yoga & meditation showed me how little I knew. How much there are inside us to explore, to understand, to discover to be able to live a happy and free life. How much we can heal, develop & grow just by connecting to our inner self. Our authentic self. Instead of letting our thoughts, our ego, the outer world & the norms in the society control our lives.

Yoga, meditation but also reading lots of books on this topic have truly opened a new world to me. A new way of living but also taking full responsibility for my life. My happiness. Not always an easy journey and one that will never end but still one that I am so grateful for.
So sit down. Take a break Ask yourself. Who are controlling your life. You, your inner self or your ego and the outer world?

For my Swedish followers, I can highly recommend the book written on the topic by @josefinedahlberg.se - Soul Work. An amazing book about daring to change your life. Heal and go for your dreams. So much inspiration but also very practical tools to use to start your journey. Truly loved reading it and recognised so much in this book. Sometimes it was like readying about my own journey.

Even though, there are many people out there claiming to have the magical formula, the quick fix, I am a strong believer that no such things exist. Getting to know yourself, your self realisation work is a lifetime journey. Something you have to do along the way. But once you start there is usually no turning back. It becomes something you want to do not a must! So, if you are ready. Enjoy the journey!

When I moved to Kalmar 2 years ago, so many things

When I moved to Kalmar 2 years ago, so many things in my life changed. I switched my high paced life for a slower more conscious one. I thought this would just last for a couple of months but now I can not even imagine going back…

For me this change started with myself. Taking more care of my health and wellbeing but also to get to know my body, mind and inner self on a deeper level. It all starts with us. If we take care of ourselves, taking care of others and our planet becomes an obvious choice.

Focusing on the big things, taking the train to Stockholm instead of flying have become an obvious choice for me. Flying less in general, eating more vegetarian food, using the bike instead of the car when possible, changing our electricity contract to a local supplier offering renewable energy are just a few changes.

Another big change we as individuals can make is to shop less. The fashion industry plays an important role due to the heavy use of water and chemicals just to mention a few areas. But here we as consumers have a big role to play by starting to shop more consciously. Less is more. Go for things that you know you will use for a long time. My lovely fur jacket from @oddmolly is a great example of this. Bought it 8 years ago and it is still my winter favourite. I am also sure the lovely dresses from their spring collection will stay in my wardrobe for many springs to come. For me, their sustainability commitment is also an important factor!

Being conscious can sometimes feel overwhelming. So much greenwashing, dos and dont’s out there. However, I am sure we will have so much to win if we all try. Stop blaming each other but instead inspire and help each other out to learn along the way. Start by focusing on the big things. The changes that will make the biggest impact. Every little step counts!

Winter wonderland💜!

2020 was the year when I was going to explore my beautiful home country more. When I would start sharing more about conscious travel.

But life is full of surprises so it more became a year of not travel and instead of conscious travel it was a year of conscious living. A year where I did the most important journey of my life. The so important inner journey. A spiritual awakening.

Still we ended the year with a trip to the Northern part of Sweden for a week of cross country & downhill skiing in the small village Lofsdalen

An amazing week in a true winter wonderland with all trees dressed in snow. Gorgeous mornings, lovely days in the slopes or the ski trails. Sometimes you do not have to go abroad for the most amazing experiences. Skiing in Sweden will for sure be a tradition going forward!
