FB Instagram Youtube Where to Stay in Bangkok - Best Hotels in Bangkok

Few cities can compare to the vibrant feel of Thailand’s capital. One of the most densely populated places on Earth, it’s got an energy like no other. Skyscrapers abound, with nearly endless choices of places to do just about anything. The question of where to stay in Bangkok should always be replied with “high up!” As a city in the skies, the best hotels in Bangkok look down from above.

Where to Stay?

As one of the great capitals of Southeast Asia, there are plenty of great lodgings in Bangkok Big chain hotels are the norm, but you’ll find some smaller ones with great concepts. While boutique hotels are nearly non-existent here, the bigger lodgings make an effort in creating beautiful design concepts. Some of the most incredible options are real design gems and as always I have some recommendations regarding the best hotels in Bangkok.

This is a city full of rooftops and infinity pools on the skies. Make sure to check your bookings to get the true Bangkok experience in one of the best hotels in Bangkok!

Design and Boutique Feeling

While one of the best hotels in Bangkok, the Oriental Residence isn’t boutique at all. This is actually a huge lodging comprised of 145 residences, mainly used by expats. This type of accommodation is actually pretty common in Bangkok.

Interior Goals at Oriental Residence Bangkok!

While the Oriental Residence isn’t boutique, it certainly is breathtaking. It is one of the best options for your stay. It is an inspiration for interior design which is why, it still gets a 4 even though the size! The whole place is in pastel hues, mixing modern sensibilities with classic British design. It’s a very peaceful ambiance in the midst of bustling Bangkok!

Room & Other Facilities

There’s an overall sense of peace throughout this place, a quality that really sets it apart among the best hotels in Bangkok. Every area seems designed for relaxation. It’s also a wonder that it doesn’t feel crowded at all. Though many pick this as their Bangkok home, you don’t feel like you’re in a highly-populated city.

Overall Facilities

I loved the lobby, decorated with sweet tones and had a lovely outdoor patio. Other cool facilities include a big pool, bar and relaxing area, and a fitness room. The downside is that, on a 4th floor, this area is fairly low for Bangkok standards. Digital nomads can get a comfy lounge chair by the pool or at the bar and get some work done on the afternoon. It’s important to find that perfect cozy spot when choosing your local stay!

While the gym was relatively small, it’s also very modern and aesthetically pleasing. The purple weights are super cute and there’s a great view from the treadmill. The best hotels in Bangkok overlook the city from everywhere!

Our Bangkok Suite

The rooms make this a wonderful choice. We stayed at a Grand Deluxe room, a big suite of approximately 45 square meters. It included a small kitchenette, a living room, a dining area, a spacious room, and a luxurious bathroom. The bathroom’s design heavily relied on marble, and everything looked and felt luxurious. I loved how it had its own table and mirror for makeup. For being one of the best hotels in Bangkok you need this extra things.

Good morning sunshine!

The bed was a highlight, as it was super cozy and comfy, almost making it tough to get out. Still, vibrant Bangkok awaited us, and we saw it before closing out eyes every night.  We were glad to have chosen the Oriental Residence! The gorgeous skyline lay in front of us, and we could even see it up close thanks to the room’s balcony. Just what I expect from the best hotels in Bangkok.

Food & Drinks

While the pool area was lovely for afternoon drinks, the city offers much nicer eateries when stepping outside. Other choices among the best hotels in Bangkok have cooler restaurants. But don’t let that stop you from picking the Oriental Residence! For my favorite Bangkok rooftops and eateries, check out my Bangkok restaurant review here.

If there’s one thing that sets the best hotels in Bangkok apart is the top-notch service. For A+ service, this is it!

The Oriental Residence is particularly well located for those visiting the Thai capital for the shopping experience. It’s about a 20-minute walk to major shopping centers like Central Embassy, Siam Paragon and Siam Center. One of the thing making it one of the best hotels in Bangkok.

While there aren’t many things right outside the hotel, as it’s mostly business-focused, many cool places are close by. Some of my favorite rooftops like Vertigo & Moon Bar at Banyan Tree Hotel and Hi So, the bar at Sofitel are around. Oriental Residence is also just 10 minutes walk from Lumpini Park, Bangkok’s Central Park. So perfect if you want to find some park vibes. One of the reasons this is among the best hotels in Bangkok is that it’s very centric, great for first-time visitors.

  1. I’ve heard so many good things about Bangkok! My kids don’t seem interested, however, so I may need to wait a few years until they are off to college, then go there with the wife.
